Site Upgrade — 5 New Features to Pick, Compare, and Tune Your Taiko Setup
We've spent the last few weeks rebuilding taiko.ac into a friendlier home for taiko players. Whether you're picking your first drum, hunting the perfect bachi, or just trying to tune sensitivity for the umpteenth time — there's now a dedicated tool, guide, or page for it. Here's a tour of what's new.
Drum Picker — find your config in 3 clicks
Tired of staring at variant dropdowns? The new Drum Picker asks three quick questions — which platforms you'll play on, which feel you want, how much space you have — and instantly tells you the exact ZhongTaiko configuration and price. Click "Buy this combo" and the product page opens with every option pre-selected.
- Multi-select platforms — PC, Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox
- Smart converter suggestions when one E-Box can't cover all your platforms
- Live price in USD or TWD based on your locale
The Maibachi Textbook — 8 workshops compared
Adapted with credit from randomewok's community guide, the new bachi page is the most thorough English/Chinese/Japanese reference on taiko drumsticks we've seen — materials, lengths, grip-tape tuning, and side-by-side workshops including Kiwami, Minamitori, Yazaserori, Gekirin, Kokoro and our own ZhongTaiko "THE ONE". Every photo opens in a full-screen lightbox.
- Materials: Hiba, Magnolia, Hinoki, Beech, Oak, Walnut…
- Grip-tape styles for rolls / accuracy / aesthetics
- Direct links to each workshop's site, Amazon JP and Twitter/X
Compare All Taiko Controllers — 11 drums, no trash talk
We took every major taiko controller on the market in 2026 — HORI, IINE, Rythmagica, DJ-DAO Taikoller, Taiko Force LV5/LV6, and both ZhongTaiko models — and scored them on five honest dimensions with pentagon radar charts. Yes, we mention the LV6 ghost-note reports and the TDC10's tiny hit zone. Yes, we recommend the right competitor when it fits you better than ours.
- 3 tiers: Entry, Mid-size Pro, 1:1 Arcade Scale
- Real-world prices in USD and TWD
- Spec table + per-drum strengths, weaknesses, known issues
FAQ, Glossary, Tuning Guide
Few new resource pages cover the questions we get asked most. The Sensitivity Tuning guide walks you through the 4-knob (D/J/K/F) layout step by step. The Glossary translates 連打 / 譜面 / 公棒 etc. into English and Japanese.
- Sensitivity Tuning — eliminate ghost notes in two minutes
- Troubleshooting — symptom-driven fixes
- FAQ, Glossary, Community Hub
Reorganized navigation — 5 items instead of 9
The top menu is now grouped into Shop, Guides, and Community dropdowns. The full English/Chinese/Japanese translations are in. Less hunting, less scrolling, more drumming.
