Taiko FAQ
Taiko FAQ
Quick answers to the questions we get most — grouped by gameplay, buying, setup, tuning, shipping and care.
Gameplay
What's the difference between DON and KA?
DON is the centre hit (red), KA is the rim hit (blue). That's the whole game at its core.
I can't keep up with fast songs. Help?
Slow the chart down (most simulators allow speed scaling) and build up gradually. Loose wrists and the drum's rebound do most of the work.
Buying
Which drum should I buy?
See our honest controller comparison. Short version: ZhongTaiko Advanced for best 1:1 arcade value, ZhongTaiko Pro if you need every platform.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide; international repairs are handled back in Taiwan. Contact us if you need help.
Setup, Tuning & Ghost Notes
My drum registers hits I didn't make (ghost notes).
Lower the sensitivity on the relevant knob. See the Sensitivity Tuning guide for the D/J/K/F layout and step-by-step.
Some of my hits aren't registering.
Raise the sensitivity slightly on that knob. Tune in small steps until clean.
Bachi Care
How do I make my sticks more comfortable?
Wrap with badminton overgrip tape. See The Maibachi Textbook for grip styles.
