1. Why do I need this?

This tool lets you update the firmware inside your PC+NS White E-Box when connected to Nintendo Switch. Common reasons to update:

  • 🐢 Fix input lag — The new 延時韌體 (Delayed Firmware) tunes the input timing for better gameplay feel
  • 🔄 Restore original behavior — Use 原版韌體 (Original Firmware) to revert any time
  • 📦 One-click GUI tool — No more command-line headaches; everything is included

2. Install the USB driver (first-time only)

Before the tool can detect your E-Box, you must install the Arduino USB driver:

1Extract the downloaded .7z file (use 7-Zip or WinRAR). You'll see a folder named dist.
2Open the Driver folder inside.
3Double-click dpinst-amd64.exe (use dpinst-x86.exe on 32-bit Windows).
4Follow the wizard. Accept any Windows security prompts. The driver installs all required Arduino USB drivers.
💡 You only need to do this once per computer. Skip this step on a PC that already has Arduino drivers.

3. Choose your firmware

The package includes two NS firmware files. Pick one based on what you want:

原版韌體 (Original Firmware)

The factory default behavior. Use this if you want to roll back to the original timing.

4. Upload firmware

1Launch ZhongTaiko_Firmware_Uploader.exe by double-clicking it.
2Connect your White E-Box to your PC with a data USB cable.
3Select language at the top — 中文 or English.
4Choose firmware:
Default firmware (preset, firmware_NS.hex) — quickest option
Custom firmware — click "Choose .hex File" and pick 延時韌體.hex or 原版韌體.hex
5Select COM port from the dropdown. If your device doesn't show up, click 🔄 Refresh.
6Click "Start Upload". The tool will:
1) Automatically enter bootloader mode
2) Detect the new bootloader COM port
3) Flash the firmware to your device
7Wait for "Success" in the log area. Then unplug and reconnect your E-Box — the new firmware is live!
Do NOT disconnect the USB cable while uploading. If the upload fails midway, just close the app and try again from Step 1.

5. Troubleshooting

❌ No COM ports appear

  • Confirm the USB cable supports data transfer (not charge-only)
  • Open Windows Device Manager — look for unknown devices with yellow warning icons
  • Try a different USB port (preferably USB 2.0 directly on the motherboard, not a hub)
  • Re-install the driver (Step 2 above)
  • Click the 🔄 Refresh button

❌ Upload fails or stalls

  • Check the log area for the specific error message
  • Make sure the .hex firmware file isn't corrupted (re-download if needed)
  • Close the program and try again
  • Manually press the reset button on the E-Box if available

❌ Program won't launch

  • Confirm you're on Windows 10/11 (64-bit recommended)
  • Disable your antivirus temporarily — some falsely flag firmware tools
  • Right-click ZhongTaiko_Firmware_Uploader.exe → "Run as administrator"

❌ After update, drum behaves oddly

  • Unplug and reconnect the E-Box
  • If still wrong, flash back to 原版韌體 (Original Firmware)
