1. Why do I need this?
This tool lets you update the firmware inside your PC+NS White E-Box when connected to Nintendo Switch. Common reasons to update:

2. Install the USB driver (first-time only)
Before the tool can detect your E-Box, you must install the Arduino USB driver:
1Extract the downloaded
.7z file (use 7-Zip or WinRAR). You'll see a folder named dist.
2Open the
Driver folder inside.
3Double-click
dpinst-amd64.exe (use dpinst-x86.exe on 32-bit Windows).
4Follow the wizard. Accept any Windows security prompts. The driver installs all required Arduino USB drivers.
💡 You only need to do this once per computer. Skip this step on a PC that already has Arduino drivers.
3. Choose your firmware
The package includes two NS firmware files. Pick one based on what you want:
RECOMMENDED
延時韌體 (Delayed Firmware)
Fixes input timing for a smoother, more accurate hit feel on Nintendo Switch. Most players should use this.
原版韌體 (Original Firmware)
The factory default behavior. Use this if you want to roll back to the original timing.
4. Upload firmware
1Launch
ZhongTaiko_Firmware_Uploader.exe by double-clicking it.
2Connect your White E-Box to your PC with a data USB cable.
3Select language at the top — 中文 or English.
4Choose firmware:
• Default firmware (preset,
• Custom firmware — click "Choose .hex File" and pick
• Default firmware (preset,
firmware_NS.hex) — quickest option• Custom firmware — click "Choose .hex File" and pick

5Select COM port from the dropdown. If your device doesn't show up, click
🔄 Refresh.
6Click "Start Upload". The tool will:
1) Automatically enter bootloader mode
2) Detect the new bootloader COM port
3) Flash the firmware to your device

7Wait for "Success" in the log area. Then unplug and reconnect your E-Box — the new firmware is live!
⚠ Do NOT disconnect the USB cable while uploading. If the upload fails midway, just close the app and try again from Step 1.
5. Troubleshooting
❌ No COM ports appear
- Confirm the USB cable supports data transfer (not charge-only)
- Open Windows Device Manager — look for unknown devices with yellow warning icons
- Try a different USB port (preferably USB 2.0 directly on the motherboard, not a hub)
- Re-install the driver (Step 2 above)
- Click the

❌ Upload fails or stalls
- Check the log area for the specific error message
- Make sure the .hex firmware file isn't corrupted (re-download if needed)
- Close the program and try again
- Manually press the reset button on the E-Box if available
❌ Program won't launch
- Confirm you're on Windows 10/11 (64-bit recommended)
- Disable your antivirus temporarily — some falsely flag firmware tools
- Right-click

❌ After update, drum behaves oddly
- Unplug and reconnect the E-Box
- If still wrong, flash back to
